An Overdue Quote Post

A favorite of mine and very appropriate for my personal life right now:

Radical?

Patrick Henry's speech at the revolutionary convention in Virginia, March 23, 1775, which he stated in small part:

Quote"What would they have? Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty, or give me death!

lives on in history books as one of the more impassioned of speeches which stirred the men's hearts to do something about the oppression at the hands of the British.  The last straw at this point in history was the soldiers quartering themselves in people's homes over the objections of the same. 

It is interesting to note here that there were people intensely opposed to Patrick Henry's radical views, desiring to keep the status quo.  But the need for radical action had indeed come.  We have not yet reached that point here in America, but we are very close; indeed many people already feel in their hearts that the situation is serious.
